Field lacrosse for boys was cancelled in 2018/2019 due to the lack of volunteers and decreased registration. However, there was Girls Field Lacrosse house league in the Fall 2018 thanks to Naomi Walser's efforts!
The MIYFLA has new executive being Naomi Walser as President; Corinne Findlater, as Treasurer; and Sheri Williams as Registrar. Thank you for volunteering with much appreciation to Bill Sanderson, Lucas Rankin and Kim Schiavon for their time and energy in these positions.
The MIYFLA is looking for more helpers to make Field Lacrosse possible for girls and boys in the Cowichan Valley. We are looking for a Secretary, Webmaster, Facebook Administrator, Equipment manager, Booster Club and Coaches. It doesn't require as much time as you may think. Please contact Naomi at email@example.com for more info on how to help out.
Be on the look out for details of an AGM at the end of March 2019 to discuss moving forward with Field Lacrosse in 2019/2020!

Hi Everyone:The Ministry of Education has asked that we circulate their survey regarding External Sport Credits to our membership. It would be good if you could take a few minutes (literally, a few minutes) and complete the survey, and following is an explanation. The link to the survey is http://fluidsurveys.com/surveys/openschoolbc/external-credentials-program-survey-1/The Ministry of Education, along with its education partners, is working to redesign the Grades 10-12 curriculum to help ensure students are learning in a way that connects them to the collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills that are so important after high school. As part of this transformation, the Ministry is also undertaking a review of the External Credentials Program to ensure alignment with the broader changes in the curriculum, such as the principle of flexibility. As well, we would like to assess stakeholders' familiarity with the EC program in British Columbia and gauge the value and accessibility of the program. We hope to reach many of our stakeholders, so we invite you to share the following survey with your current and former students, parents, and colleagues: http://fluidsurveys.com/surveys/openschoolbc/external-credentials-program-survey-1/The survey will remain open until November 30, 2016. Results will inform our review of the EC Program and recommendations for future program design, which will be communicated next year. Regards,Rochelle
